One of my favourite magazines Monocle created a city survey of Oslo (my current home) in their 78th issue. In addition, although very small, they also included the VisitOslo logo which I have been working on for the past year. South African design studio Muti who also illustrated a map of Japan for Monocle got the task to illustrate the Norwegian capital for the city survey.
The Oslo City survey illustrations include most of the cities main attractions such as the Opera house, Akershus Festning, Vulkan, Vigelands park, the Palace etc. They also included some of the lesser-known aspects of the city at least for tourists such as the skiing slope, the beach huk, Hoved island and the many music festivals. Having lived in the Oslo for 7 years I think the people in the illustrations are way to happy. And perhaps the background colour which lies under the text is a bit off, giving it the impression that Oslo is situated in a tropical country. Apart from that I love it as most of the work from Muti. Monocle perhaps could of commission an illustrator from Norway.
